Getting To Know Your Calgary Wedding Photographer

weddingphotgraphercalgaryWedding planning can be both exciting and overwhelming. With all the details of the big day that you want perfect, you want to make sure that all those perfect moments are captured on camera; thus the huge importance of finding the right you must have.

You begin your search with a long list of potential shooters you can hire. All of them may be qualified for the job, but the attention to your wedding detail will make a huge difference. From this long list, you must create a short list of the most qualified among them all. The choice may be based on experience, expertise or maybe even economic. Some might be better than those in your short list, but if they charge you with too much, you might as well find someone else to get the job done.

Since you will be spending the entire day not only with your groom or your entourage but the photographer as well, you want to make sure that you know and that you can trust the Calgary photographer before you decide to hire. In order to make the right choice, here are a few things you need to know about the Calgary wedding photographer:

First, you must ask them how they have been in the wedding photography industry. Their years of handling various types of wedding will give them an edge over the other photographers you may have talked to. Since wedding photography requires a lot of skill and careful attention to detail, you want to make sure that they’ve got that and more.

Second, how many are you in your team? You want to know that all the details of the wedding are covered. It wouldn’t be as perfect if only the bride and her entourage are in the photos. You want to make sure that all the aspects of this love story is in every photo. If they can only give your two or three people, you might want to look into hiring someone else.

There is no doubt that the role of the photographer on your wedding day is one of the most important. All those minute details of your dream wedding captured on camera will serve as your reminder of how great your love story is. The photos will be passed on from one generation to another and you want to make sure that all of which is properly documented.

Snow Sessions: Chilliwack Children’s Photographer

An inpromptu session with my photographer friend Sarah Soverign and my youngest babe, Charlotte.  Gotta love facebook for things like this. Sarah’s status “Anyone want to go out and shoot” My reply, be ready in 15min! It’s so nice to just go and shoot alongside a fellow photographer… plus my daughter is just so dang cute and she isn’t keen on being in photos all the time so for her to want us to shoot this was  special to me. It was cold and we didn’t last long at all, obviously. If you know my little girl you know she picked her dress out….

Galiano Island Wedding: Benny + Jolene

Such an enchanting wedding and amazing couple! Congrats Benny + Jolene. This past summer I was thankful to be able to co-shoot this beautiful wedding with Roxanna J Photography at Bodega Ridge on Galiano Island, British Columbia.  The Retreat has the coziest cabins along a 22 acre property that is forest and field, and there are these crazy cool arbutus trees that grow there with red pealing bark! So cool…. I must admit I really like old unique trees.  At dusk we saw fallow deer and during the day at the beach, star fish! I realized I hadn’t seen starfish outside of the Vancouver Aquarium for years.  Galiano Island was really enjoyable, off the grid kind of island and I think they couldn’t have picked a more suitable place to become husband and wife!  I’d love to go back to enjoy the tranquility of the property one day, calm and peaceful.

Due any Day: Elizabeth and Cory {Chilliwack Maternity Photographer}

Our session was set for an intimate indoor shoot, and then it snowed… We did a few shots outside at the end of their sessio in the cold but beautiful weather. How could we not, just look at the gorgeous flurry of white! Liz is simply stunning in these images and she’s radiating that “oh so happy to be pregnant (and no longer sick) glow!”  Due to have this baby in March, I’m certainly hoping she’s not late and I’m eagerly awaiting the news…Boy or Girl??? I love it when it’s a surprise. Elizebeth’s hair and makeup looked amazing, probably because she know what she’s doing!
